Pumpkin Picking

We had planned on going to the pumpkin patch last Sunday for our big annual shin dig...pumpkin picking, food, family, friends and fun for an afternoon! Well, the stomach bug attacked our household and we had to cancel our fun plans. We really wanted to go and get pumpkins, mostly because we do it every year, and both girls are at the age this year to really enjoy each other and the process, and not to mention getting pictures and video to share!!! So, we decided to go Friday afternoon. We had gorgeous weather, and there was hardly anyone there. Bryden, Emmy and I got there are little before Jim, so the girls were wandering around and enjoying each other. I got some fabulous pics of the girls, and of course some adorable ones of finding the perfect pumpkin!!! Enjoy!

Emmy's Photo Shoot

When Bryden was the same age as Emmy is now (20 months), my mom wanted to commission an artist named Caroline Sims that I went to high school with to paint a portrait of Bryden. Mom wanted to get one of Emmy too, so this week, Caroline came up to get to know Emerson and get some pictures to paint from. Now, Emmy is one easy breezy kid, and is usually pretty flexible when her naps are messed with, but she was not very cooperative with getting her picture taken! I tried to plan around her nap the first day, and wouldn't you know she had a rough night the night before and wanted to take a nap before Caroline even got there...at 9am!!! So, she shot some pics anyway, nothing that she really wanted to work from, so she came back two days later, this time in the pm. Emmy ALWAYS takes a morning nap, usually within 2 hours of waking up, so I figured it would be better in the afternoon, plus warmer and Bryden could be there to help get Emmy to laugh...Nope, she didn't want her morning nap that day, go figure...she played in her crib for an hour and a half...another rough day of pics. Finally, on the third day, Emmy was in a much better mood, that of course was after I had to call Caroline and tell her to come in the afternoon instead of morning because Emmy was really tired again (we've been very busy lately, poor kiddo is all thrown off!), and it took about 5 minutes and Caroline got some shots she was really pleased with! Finally!!! Anyway, here are some cute pics from the third and final day...I love the sequence of them, she caught all of Emmy's emotions! Maine / New Hampshire

We decided to head up to Maine this fall, which we have never done since I have known Jim. We were so excited to be able to enjoy so much...HS football game, Fryeburg Fair, Santa's Village, North Conway, NH, day hikes, BEAUTIFUL fall foliage, and of course, the best treat, spending quality time with Memere and Pepere. We did things a little different this trip, we took off to North Conway, NH for the week, which was amazing. The weather mostly cooperated, there was so much to enjoy, we got some incredible pics and made some awesome memories. Thanks to Memere and Pepere for a fabulous week, one of my most favorite trips ever, and I know the girls had a blast catching up with you and each getting to spend some special time with you guys! Bryden Turns 5

HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY BRYDEN! It has been so much fun watching you grow these past five years. You have an incredible amount of personality and we enjoy seeing all of your true colors each day. You put such pride in our hearts and we look forward to each moment of every day, and we love the memories we share with you. Your smile and your enthusiasm for life is infectious, and though we don't want to rush you, we look forward to watching you grow each new day! We hope you enjoy this next year of your life and all the experiences and memories it holds!

Bryden and Mommy Time

In the chaos of daily life, sometimes it is just nice to be able to slow down and spend time with just one daughter at a time, for their sake as much as my own, and today it got to be Bryden. It doesn't happen often enough, and I find such...peace I think is the word I am looking for...when I get to take advantage of that. When we were up in Maine this past June, Bryden adn I gathered a bunch of nice big rocks to paint sometime. Well, that sometime was this weekend, we went and got some fun paint colors and went to town in the garage. For about an hour, we hung out, talked, and painted, and it was so nice to have no distractions and just enjoying each other and our painting! Bryden painted over the same rock about 5 times and finally got it to her liking, and she painted quite a few others! Now we have some beautifully painted rocks from a place that means so much to our family and were made while have some special bonding time...does it get any better than that??? Enjoy!
